San Francisco is arguably one of the best cities for walking in the world, and there’s a walking tour for every type of visitor (and most locals). From guided showcases of street art to locally led brew and “bud” crawls, these walking tours cover the most iconic neighborhoods with their own twist.
The team at OnlineSOS decided to develop checklists to help journalists respond to online harassment. My article explores the expert-driven reasons behind this decision, as well as the organization's own learnings from the process of checklist development.
After conducting extensive research and expert interviews, I developed six checklists that journalists, activists and other targets of online harassment can use to protect themselves and their loved ones--both on and offline.
I kept a travelogue of my visits to 14 countries in Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia and Central America over the course of a year. Teachers don’t even come close–the average San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) teacher makes $65,240 a year. That’s far less than the City’s median income of $84,160, and puts us at 528th among 821 reporting school districts in California.
